Applicants must meet the quarterly deadline, and can only apply once
Current deadlines (although subject to change): Feb 15; May 15; Aug 15; Nov 15
Is this initiative only for people in the Columbia, SC area?
At this time, yes. We needed to be geographic specific in our initial reach so that potential donors in our hometown could have an immediate impact. Once we get some tracking, we will include a broader applicant pool.
Will every applicant receive money to pay for their passport?
That is our goal!! Pending you complete the entire application process, there is no reason you shouldn't be awarded. However, it bears mentioning, this is not a grant or a way to pay for a vacation. The recipient will need to actively participate in our workshops/webinars so that they can be properly instructed on the process of applying for a passport and planning their first international trip. The recipient will also need to pay for their passport and our organization will later reimburse. All efforts will take precedence to provide funding for applicants in the order they are received. Hence, all eligible applicants from Quarter 1 will receive funding before we fund applicants from Quarter 2.
